About us

Foundation for Youth & Women Empowerment (FYWE)

The Foundation for Youth & Women Empowerment (FYWE) envisions a world where youth and women are empowered, resilient, and active participants in shaping their societies — with no one left behind. In Liberia, many young people, especially young women and marginalized communities, continue to face deep-rooted challenges, including gender-based violence (GBV), limited access to education and economic opportunities, harmful traditional practices, and the growing impacts of climate change. To respond to these challenges, FYWE has developed a clear strategy that focuses on empowering young people and women to become agents of change in their communities. Through advocacy, capacity building, and community-driven action, FYWE strives to create a more equitable, peaceful, and sustainable Liberia.

Our Belief

We believe that every young woman and marginalized individual has the potential to lead, to shape her future, and to positively impact society when given equal opportunities and the right support.

Our Mission

To work alongside youth and women within their communities to create a society free from suffering — one where every individual has access to opportunities, freedom, and support to thrive.

Our Vision

A Liberia where young women and marginalized groups live free from violence, actively contribute to community growth, and where the structural causes of gender inequality, economic exclusion, and environmental vulnerability are eliminated.
